The aim of the European Roulette game is the same as of any other roulette types - to guess the number of the roulette wheel which the ball lands on. But in comparison with American Roulette, European Roulette has 37 numbers. The numbers of the European Roulette wheel, the same as of the American Roulette wheel, are not located freely but arranged in the strict order according to the definite roulette rules.

• Strict alternation of red and black numbers
• Numbers from 10 to 32 are arranged to the right side of zero, 9 numbers of them are black low (2,4,6,8,10,11,13,15,17) and 9 numbers - red high (19,21,23,25,27,30,32,34,36).
• Numbers from 5 to 26 are arranged to the left side of zero, 9 numbers - red low and 9 numbers - black high

The French and European Roulette wheels have three group of numbers on which players can place call bets:

• Orphelins (Orphans) (17, 34, 6, 1, 20, 14, 31, 9)
• Tier du Cylindre (Thirds of the wheel) (27, 13, 36, 11, 30, 8, 23, 10, 5, 24, 16, 33)
• Voisins du Zero (Neighbors of Zero) (22, 18, 29, 7, 28, 12, 35, 3, 26, 0, 32, 15, 19, 4, 21, 2, 25)

According to rules of the European Roulette betting area has two small area, so-called inside and outside areas. Inside area has all the numbers of the wheel and zero which are arranged in the definite order. This definite order consists of three lines of 12 numbers. Outside area has the numbers for special bets placing according to the characteristics, such as:

• Bets on odd-even
• Bets on red-black
• Bets on high-low

• Bets on any group of numbers
• Bets on combinations (odd-even, high-low, red-black)
